How to Record Audio File?
Have you ever dreamed of a studio in your home for recording yourself
singing and sharing with your friends? It will come true with the
help of a free, easy-to-use software application - Free
Audio Editor. The program enables you to record
sound played through your sound card and any other sound
sources like microphone, VCR, audio tape player,
etc. You can also use it to grab any sound, including
music, dialogs from movies, game sounds, etc. from your local computer
or the internet. Download and install Free Audio Editor and follow
the instructions below.
Step 1. Active Recording Window
Launch Free Audio Editor. Click "New Record" to choose recording sample rate & channels and click "OK" to activate audio recording window.

Step 2. Choose Sound Source and Sound Card
Choose the sound source as needed and select a proper sound card in your system. The names of the sound sources to record audio maybe different in various operating systems, usually named as Stereo Mix, Phone Line, Aux Volume, Video Volume, Mic Volume, Line In, CD Audio and so on.

Step 3. Adjust Recording Settings
Now start the playback of the audio that you want to record. If the audio from the sound is detected, you should see the signal on the wave patterns. Then, adjust the recording volume as needed. Set a specific time by clicking "Timer Record" to automatically start recording. You also have the power to record without silence.

Step 4. Start Recording
After everything is set, please click the red round record button in audio recorder to start recording. You can see the recording time on the top. To stop the recording, click "Pause". Then, click "Keep" to input the recording to the waveform window of audio editor.

Step 5. Save the Recording
Now, the recording is displayed in the waveform window. You can click "Play" to playback or edit & add audio effects to the recording if you like. Click "Save" to specify the output format, file name and output location. You can use presets provided (There are AM Quality, FM Quality, CD Quality and so on) or specify the parameters as needed.
